Late Middle Ages, somewhere in Europe. A renowned alchemist – legend says he found the secret of the Philosopher's Stone – vanished from his workshop a hundred years ago without a trace. His knowledge: lost. His laboratory: sealed.

Today the door opens for the first time in a century. You are the chosen ones, the ones who shall complete his legacy. Before you: alchemical apparatus, cryptic symbols, hidden mechanisms. Every experiment a clue, every clue a test of your ingenuity.

You have 60 minutes before the workshop seals itself again – for another hundred years. Can you create the Stone before the secret is lost forever? The fastest alchemists have done it in under 33 minutes.

The Alchemist has a difficulty of 4 out of 5 – challenging but accessible. The average success rate is around 75%, significantly higher than Devils Mountain. Best time: 33 minutes. Perfect for first-timers from 4 people up; challenging for experienced teams of two.
Is The Alchemist family-friendly?
Yes – The Alchemist is our most accessible indoor Escape Room and ideal for families with older children (from age 14 without adult supervision). No horror elements, no shock effects – just medieval atmosphere and engaging puzzles. For younger kids we recommend our outdoor kids mission in Vienna's Stadtpark.
How many players is the ideal team size?
Ideal: 3–5 players. Enough minds for the parallel puzzles, but the lab stays manageable. With 6–7 people it gets social and relaxed. Doable with two but slower-paced. For beginner groups we recommend 4–5 players.
What's the difference between The Alchemist and Devils Mountain?

Do we get help if we get stuck?
Yes. Our gamemasters watch you throughout and have a perfect sense of when a small hint is just right – so frustration doesn't kick in, but you still feel like you created the Philosopher's Stone yourselves. Hints come via a screen in the room, perfectly dosed.
Is The Alchemist suitable for birthdays or bachelor parties?
Very well. The Alchemist is especially popular for birthdays – the difficulty fits mixed groups perfectly. It's also ideal for more laid-back bachelor parties. For larger groups of 8+ we book The Alchemist and Devils Mountain in parallel. → More about bachelor parties
When can I book The Alchemist?
Monday to Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 8:00pm. Weekends often book up 2–3 weeks in advance – book early. Weekdays usually have short-notice availability.
What happens if we don't finish in 60 minutes?
The gamemaster walks you through the rest of the story and the remaining puzzles. About 25% of teams don't quite finish – that's part of the experience. The fun is in the challenge, not winning at all costs.
